About

Halvsy

Features

We built Halvsy because splitting a dinner kept ending the same way. One person held the receipt, did the math on a phone calculator, and later typed each line into an app that stopped them after a few entries a day. The receipt already has every number on it, so Halvsy starts there. FROM RECEIPT TO BALANCE Photograph the receipt, or pick a photo from your library. Halvsy reads the items, tax and tip, and shows them beside the printed total so you can check that they add up. Tap a name onto each item, adding anyone who is missing by name alone. Halvsy works out each person's share, splits tax and tip in proportion to what each person ordered, and adds the bill to the group. The group balance updates at once, so everyone in the group can see who owes whom and how much. GROUPS AND SETTLING UP Start a group for a trip, a shared home or a single dinner. Friends join by scanning the group's QR code or tapping an invite link, and anyone who has not installed Halvsy yet can hold a seat under their name until they join. Bills without a receipt can be added by hand and split equally, by exact amounts, by percentage or by shares. Halvsy reduces the group's debts to as few payments as it can. When it is time to pay each other back, Halvsy fills in the amount and hands it to whatever payment app you already use through the share sheet. Mark a payment as paid and the balance clears for everyone. Each group uses one currency of your choice, and bills you add without a connection appear at once and sync when you are back online. WHAT IS FREE Groups, expenses, balances and settling up are free, with no ads and no daily limit. Every account includes 10 receipt scans a month, and Halvsy Unlimited removes that limit. The app is currently available in English. SUBSCRIPTION TERMS Halvsy Unlimited is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly ($2.99 in the US) or yearly ($19.99 in the US), and prices in other countries are shown in the app in your local currency. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase, or when the trial ends for the yearly plan. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before that period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings at any time. Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
