Tablet.2008x vs Onomi

This app is developed for the edX class “Fundamentals of Manufacturing Processes” (2.008x).

Point your camera at anything around you and Onomi tells you what it's called in English. Tap the word to see it used in a real sentence, and add it to your deck. Then Onomi brings the word back, days later, just before you'd have forgotten it; until you actually know it. YOUR LIFE IS THE TEXTBOOK Textbooks teach you words in the order someone else chose. Onomi teaches you the kettle in your kitchen, the wrench in your toolbox, the hydrant on your street. Words you meet every day are words you'll actually use. LEARNING THAT STICKS Every word you collect enters a review queue built on spaced repetition; the same well-tested method used by medical students and serious language learners. Review each word right before you'd forget it, and the intervals stretch out as your memory strengthens. ENGLISH, IN ENGLISH No translations. You're looking at the object, so you don't need one; the thing in front of you is the definition. Learning a word directly in English builds the instinct to think in it. WHAT'S INSIDE • Over 1,000 everyday objects, foods, animals and places • More than 10,000 example sentences, written to teach real usage — you boil a kettle, you tip a wheelbarrow, you chip a mug • Pronunciation for every word • A review queue that adapts to how well you're actually doing FREE, AND GENEROUSLY SO Unlimited scanning. All 1,000+ words. The complete review queue. No daily limits, no locked deck. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel it any time in Settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
