Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Scanfig at none against Comic Books Collector's 1. Scanfig also leads on ratings volume (389 vs 1) and review sentiment (58% vs 33%). Comic Books Collector's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and device support (4 vs 2). On price, update cadence, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Comic Books Collector sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Scanfig asks for nothing beyond the download.
Comic Books Collector holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Scanfig has 389 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Comic Books Collector's written reviews are positive against 58% of Scanfig's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Comic Books Collector ships an update every 2 months, Scanfig every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
