Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Código Stereo at none against Bongos's shown. Código Stereo also leads on rating (4.4 vs 4.1) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Bongos's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 14 months) and ratings volume (36 vs 5). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Código Stereo holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bongos has 36 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Bongos ships an update fortnightly, Código Stereo every 14 months. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
