Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: TimeZone Carousel at none against World Clock's 2. TimeZone Carousel also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and iOS requirement (12.4 vs 15.0). World Clock's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (11 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. World Clock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. TimeZone Carousel asks for nothing beyond the download.
World Clock holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: World Clock has 11 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of TimeZone Carousel's written reviews are positive against 67% of World Clock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
TimeZone Carousel ships an update every 3 weeks, World Clock monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
