Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: Yen Ching Express at every 3 weeks against Fiddleheads Coffee's every 10 months. Yen Ching Express also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6). Fiddleheads Coffee's advantage is review sentiment (21% vs 0%) and ratings volume (406 vs 35). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Yen Ching Express holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fiddleheads Coffee has 406 ratings behind it against 35, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 21% of Fiddleheads Coffee's written reviews are positive against 0% of Yen Ching Express's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Fiddleheads Coffee ships an update every 10 months, Yen Ching Express every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
