Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: CTA Dex at 4.8 against PokéType Chart's 2.0. CTA Dex also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). PokéType Chart's advantage is ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CTA Dex sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and PokéType Chart sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

CTA Dex holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CTA Dex has 1.2K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
