The clearest difference is rating: BackCam at 3.5 against AiWei's 1.5. BackCam also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
BackCam holds the better App Store score, 3.5 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AiWei has 18 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 22% of AiWei's written reviews are positive against 0% of BackCam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
AiWei ships an update every 2 months, BackCam every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
