Use the BlastCam app to record and playback videos of your shots. The app also features the shot simulator functionality, that allows you to visualize where your shot will impact! This functionality is great for teaching those new to shotgunning and also for helping experienced shooters to fine tune their technique. Our lead calculator uses ballistics calculations to determine the exact amount of lead needed to hit the target. This allows you to vary the direction, speed, range, and height of the target as well as the type of shot, the choke, and the muzzle velocity to calculate the perfect amount of lead. This is the perfect app for anyone who enjoys the challenge of shooting shotguns. Highly recommended for upland hunters, waterfowl hunters, sporting clays, trap, and skeet enthusiasts!

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: RAD Development at 4.3 against BlastCam's 3.0. RAD Development also leads on ratings volume (27 vs 2). BlastCam's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 70%) and price ($0.99 vs $1.99). On update cadence, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

RAD Development costs $1.99 and BlastCam $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
RAD Development holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RAD Development has 27 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 70% of RAD Development's written reviews are positive against 100% of BlastCam's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
RAD Development ships an update every 5 weeks, BlastCam every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
