Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Study America at none against Linga's 10. Study America also leads on iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.5). Linga's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (198 vs 6). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Linga sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Study America asks for nothing beyond the download.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Linga against 4.8 for Study America. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Linga has 198 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 93% of Linga's written reviews are positive against 100% of Study America's.
Linga ships an update every 2 weeks, Study America every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
