If you are holding a baby in one hand, knowing there's a chance of milk spitting out of his mouth at any second, and you need to log a feed—what do you do? When you finally put the baby down at 3 AM and your brain is barely functioning, the last thing you want is a complex app. That’s why I built JoeyLog. I’m a software developer and a new father. After my son Joey was born, I realized most baby trackers are overwhelming and frustrating to use during those high-stress moments. I wanted an answer that was voice-first, smart, and minimalist. I built JoeyLog for this exact purpose, and I’m offering it for free to any parents facing the same struggle. (There is only a tiny fee if you choose to sync data between family members, just to keep the servers running!) The simplest baby tracker ever built: 1-2 Taps Max – No deep menus, no loading screens. Tap and you’re done. Smart Voice Input – Just say "Joey had a 30ml bottle 15 minutes ago" and it’s logged. Privacy First – No account needed; all your core data stays locally on your device. Free to Use – All essential tracking features are completely free. Family Sync – Keep your partner updated in real-time so you're always on the same page. Bilingual – Full support for both English and Chinese. What you can track: - Quick Feeding: Dedicated buttons for fast logging. - Sleep Timer: Start and stop with a single tap. - Diapers: Track Wet, Dry, or Both. - Growth Charts: Monitor weight and height trends over time. Download JoeyLog — because parenting is hard enough.

Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: JoeyLog at none against Split Screen's shown. JoeyLog also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 12 months). Split Screen's advantage is ratings volume (4.6K vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Split Screen sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and JoeyLog sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
JoeyLog holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Split Screen has 4.6K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Split Screen ships an update every 12 months, JoeyLog every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
