Proofmode is a system that enables authentication and verification of multimedia content, particularly captured on a smartphone, from point of capture at the source to viewing by a recipient. It utilizes enhanced sensor-driven metadata, hardware fingerprinting, cryptographic signing, and third-party notaries to enable a pseudonymous, decentralized approach to the need for chain-of-custody and “proof” by both activists and everyday people alike. Lumethic Capture is a camera application for technical image verification supporting lumethic.com validation. It allows users to capture photos and validate their authenticity using forensic analysis. The app compares raw sensor data against the processed image to detect technical inconsistencies. MOBILE CAPTURE Capture photos directly on your device using secure hardware-backed technology and upload it to lumethic.com. The app accesses mosaic Bayer pattern RAW data from the camera sensor and uses the device Secure Enclave for key storage and signing. Photos taken with Lumethic Capture are forensically analyzed and a transparent authenticity report is created. VERIFICATION CHECKS The app performs four independent technical checks on each photo: Sensor Authenticity Verifies that the photo originates from a genuine camera sensor. The system examines noise characteristics and signal distribution to identify unique physical signatures inherent to the photographic process. Analyzes: Noise patterns, signal entropy, sensor fingerprints. Detects: Synthetic media, composites. Visual Consistency Compares the photo against a reference version generated from the camera's RAW sensor data. This verifies that the image represents what the camera captured. The comparison uses structural similarity metrics to detect deviations. Analyzes: SSIM scores, perceptual hashes, histogram correlation. Detects: Content splicing, localized edits, face swaps. Recapture Detection Detects whether a photo is an original capture or a photo of a screen or print. Images photographed from secondary sources exhibit artifacts from the display medium. The check analyzes frequency domain patterns. Analyzes: Frequency spectra, moiré patterns, pixel grid artifacts. Detects: Screen photographs, monitor captures, print recaptures. Metadata Validation Examines embedded information for consistency. The check compares EXIF fields between RAW and JPEG files to confirm the file integrity aligns with camera standards.
