Gifs are versatile, universal, and easy to use… but there’s one flaw: You don’t know when they start or end. Is the cat jumping up or down? Did the guy eat his food on the table… or on the ground? Are you supposed to pour milk first, then cereal? These are the universe’s unanswered questions. ProgressGif adds progress bars to your gifs! Now you can finally follow along in peace. This is an open-source project. Anyone can contribute at https://github.com/aheze/ProgressGif.

Every photo you take carries more than you can see: where it was taken, which phone took it, when, and a trail of hidden data. Borofish helps you remove it before you share, and keeps your albums tidy while you're at it. STRIP — REMOVE HIDDEN INFO • Clean one photo or many at once, including videos • Choose exactly what to remove: Location, Device, Time, Capture settings, Description (IPTC, copyright, author) • Hidden data such as XMP, MakerNote and embedded thumbnails is always removed • Works with HEIC, JPEG, PNG and more; formats that can't be rewritten are saved as JPEG • Orientation and color profile are kept, so your photo looks exactly the same • Videos are exported without re-encoding whenever possible • The clean copy gets a new random file name, so the original name doesn't leak • Your originals are never touched THE BOROFISH ALBUM Clean copies land in a dedicated "Borofish" album, ready to share. Compare any copy with its original, and when you're done, Dump the whole album with a long press. ALBUMS — DELETE THE WAY YOU WANT Browse all your albums in a grid. See at a glance which ones contain photos with GPS data. When you delete an album, choose: • Delete the album only (your photos stay) • Delete the album and the photos that exist only in it • Delete the album and all of its photos Borofish warns you when a photo also lives in another album, and every photo you delete goes to Recently Deleted, where you can recover it for 30 days. SWEEP — CLEAR EMPTY ALBUMS Find every empty album in your library and sweep them away in one go. Uncheck any you want to keep. SEE WHAT YOUR PHOTOS REVEAL Tap any photo to see its full metadata. The home screen shows how many photos you have and where your most recent ones were taken, a quick reminder of what you might be sharing. DESIGNED FOR IPHONE AND IPAD A bold new dark design with smooth animations: clean photos fly into the Borofish album, and empty albums get swept off the screen. On iPad, a sidebar keeps everything one tap away. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No ads. No tracking. Metadata is removed right on your device, and your photos are never uploaded.

Verdict
The clearest difference is price: ProgressGif at Free against Borofish's $0.99. ProgressGif also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (11.1 vs 16.6). Borofish's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days). On ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.
