Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: JellyBox Player at 4.7 against Fintunes's 3.9. JellyBox Player also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). Fintunes's advantage is review sentiment (68% vs 40%) and ratings volume (31 vs 6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
JellyBox Player holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fintunes has 31 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Fintunes's written reviews are positive against 40% of JellyBox Player's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Fintunes ships an update every 2 months, JellyBox Player every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
