Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: toolKaiser at 80% against PhotoCatch's 33%. toolKaiser also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ratings volume (10 vs 2). PhotoCatch's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 9 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PhotoCatch sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. toolKaiser asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

PhotoCatch holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: toolKaiser has 10 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of toolKaiser's written reviews are positive against 33% of PhotoCatch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

toolKaiser ships an update every 9 months, PhotoCatch every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
