Both are free to download. BJJ Fanatics sells 4 one-off in-app purchases and True Trainer sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for BJJ Fanatics against 5.0 for True Trainer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BJJ Fanatics has 4.5K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 59% of BJJ Fanatics's written reviews are positive against 80% of True Trainer's.
BJJ Fanatics ships an update fortnightly, True Trainer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
