โครงการการพัฒนาอาสาสมัครดิจิทัล (อสด.) เป็นการพัฒนาประชาชนที่มีจิตอาสาที่มีความสนใจด้านดิจิทัล เพื่อเป็นตัวแทนในการทำหน้าที่ช่วยเหลือ ให้คำแนะนำภารกิจที่สำคัญของกระทรวงฯ ที่ดำเนินการในพื้นที่ และการใช้งานด้านดิจิทัลที่ถูกต้อง โดยได้จัดทำเป็นโปรแกรมการอบรม “อาสาสมัครดิจิทัล” เป็นระยะเวลา 3 วัน 2 คืน ภายหลังการอบรมจะได้รับวุฒิบัตรเพื่อแสดงถึงการเป็น “อาสาสมัครดิจิทัล” ให้สามารถไปปฏิบัติหน้าที่เป็นตัวแทนของกระทรวงในการช่วยเหลือให้คำแนะนำการใช้ประโยชน์จากดิจิทัลให้กับประชาชนต่อไป ทั้งนี้กระทรวงฯ ได้พัฒนาแอปพลิเคชัน “อาสาสมัครดิจิทัล” เพื่อเป็นเครื่องมือสนับสนุนการทำงานของอาสาสมัครดิจิทัล (อสด.) อีกทั้งยังมีองค์ความรู้ที่สามารถศึกษาได้ด้วยตนเอง เพื่อพัฒนาต่อยอดในด้านที่สนใจต่อไป โดยผู้ใช้แอพพลิเคชันสามารถใช้งานฟังก์ชั่นต่างๆได้อีกด้วย อาทิ - ติดตามข่าวสารด้านกิจกรรมอาสา - ติดตามข่าวสารจากทางภาครัฐ - องค์ความรู้ด้านดิจิทัล และด้านอื่น ๆ - ตรวจสอบข่าวปลอม - ตรวจสอบสภาพอากาศ - ตรวจสลากกินแบ่ง - บริการจากทางภาครัฐ - อื่นๆ
