Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Date Today at 4.0 against Widget Station's 3.3. Date Today also leads on update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (26 vs 6). Widget Station's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Date Today sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Widget Station asks for nothing beyond the download.
Date Today holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 26 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Widget Station's written reviews are positive against 33% of Date Today's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Widget Station ships an update every 2 months, Date Today every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on June 1, 2026 and September 15, 2026 respectively.
