Augmented reality application to visualise high-energy neutrinos detected at the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, which is located at the South Pole. These neutrinos are fundamental particles traveling through the cosmos, many of which are from outside of our galaxy. Through the app you will receive neutrino alerts in realtime, and will be able to visualise their interaction in the detector, as well as the estimated source direction projected onto a sky map.

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: QuantumNote at every 2 months against ICEcuBEAR's every 30 months. ICEcuBEAR's advantage is ratings volume (7 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for ICEcuBEAR against 5.0 for QuantumNote. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ICEcuBEAR has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
ICEcuBEAR ships an update every 30 months, QuantumNote every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
