Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: GreatFireVPN at 5.0 against ANYCONTROL's 4.0. GreatFireVPN also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1). ANYCONTROL's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and iOS requirement (11.1 vs 15.0). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GreatFireVPN sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. ANYCONTROL asks for nothing beyond the download.
GreatFireVPN holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: GreatFireVPN has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
