Human Rights Academy vs Review Toolkit

Amnesty’s Human Rights Academy offers a wide variety of human rights courses in more than 20 languages. Every single one is available for free through this app. These range in length from 15 minutes to 15 hours, and many offer an official Amnesty International certificate upon successful completion. The Academy is training a new generation of human rights defenders - strengthening the human rights movement through action-oriented education. The courses will equip you with knowledge about human rights and will encourage you to take action on different human rights issues. Various human rights topics are covered, including freedom of expression, an introduction to human rights, indigenous peoples’ rights, the right to freedom from torture, digital security and human rights, and many more. You can complete the courses at your own pace, free of cost, just by registering on the platform. No prior knowledge of human rights is required. Courses can also be downloaded to your device through this app. After you download a course while connected to Wi-Fi, you can learn on the go without using any data. The Review Toolkit is the first mobile application specifically designed by the United Nations to make knowledge sharing methodology accessible to all military and police personnel, training centres and academies. Users can capture, analyse, review the successes, innovations and challenges from their operational experiences, to improve and optimize training, preparation and support of their future deployments. All successes and failures offer vital opportunities to learn and improve. At all levels of any organization there is a responsibility to come together and share experiences and lessons learned. This is especially critical in complex and rapidly evolving operational environments, including United Nations peacekeeping operations. The good practices and lessons developed by those previously deployed are essential not only to training and preparation, but also to the development and implementation of tactics, techniques and procedures of future military contingent and formed police unit (FPU) personnel.. The Review Toolkit is an effective, secure and user-friendly way to optimize your knowledge sharing practices and can complement existing information-sharing systems; it will serve as a blueprint for systems that are yet to be developed.
