Verdict
Ryder Cup and TGL | WTGL both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 46% of TGL | WTGL's written reviews are positive against 20% of Ryder Cup's. TGL | WTGL also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Ryder Cup's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 33) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Ryder Cup holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ryder Cup has 13K ratings behind it against 33, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Ryder Cup's written reviews are positive against 46% of TGL | WTGL's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Ryder Cup ships an update fortnightly, TGL | WTGL every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
