This is an app that uses the iPhone’s built-in motion sensors to overlay head position animations onto videos of nystagmus. By using the front-facing camera, users can record their own nystagmus. In this mode, the screen itself serves as a light source. When using the rear-facing camera, the iPhone can be fixed in front of the eye with a stabilization device, allowing for shake-free recording of eye movements. Settings such as exposure, zoom, and LED brightness can be retained. Videos are displayed in a list sorted by the exact date and time of recording (year, month, day, hour, minute, second). Tapping a video plays it, and swiping left deletes it. The videos are saved in an album named “iCapNYS.” The app can also transmit iPhone gyroscope data via Wi-Fi. This feature is designed for the Windows software “CapNYS,” which records nystagmus and head position; CapNYS receives and utilizes the data. Additionally, the app monitors the iPhone’s motion (pitch, roll, yaw), and if any axis exceeds a preset threshold, it triggers a beep and vibration. This function is used during vestibular rehabilitation.

**BPPV Simulator** is a medical education and interactive 3D learning application designed for students and professionals in vestibular medicine, audiology, otolaryngology, and related healthcare fields. Positional testing and canalith repositioning maneuvers for benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) involve complex spatial relationships among the semicircular canals, head movements, and otoconial motion. Traditional two-dimensional illustrations often cannot adequately demonstrate these dynamic processes. This application uses interactive 3D models to visualize semicircular canal anatomy, otoconial movement, positional testing, nystagmus patterns, and repositioning maneuvers, helping users develop a clearer understanding of their spatial and physiological relationships. **KEY FEATURES** **3D Vestibular Anatomy** Explore interactive representations of the three pairs of semicircular canals and related vestibular structures. Understand their spatial orientations, ampullary locations, and anatomical relationships. **BPPV Theoretical Knowledge** Learn the fundamental concepts of BPPV, including semicircular canal physiology, otoconial movement following displacement, and the basic characteristics of different BPPV subtypes. **Positional Testing Education** Use interactive 3D models to visualize head movements during common BPPV positional tests. Explore the relationships among head position, semicircular canal orientation, gravity, and otoconial movement. **Nystagmus Education** Understand the direction and characteristics of BPPV-related positional nystagmus through the spatial anatomy of the semicircular canals and their excitatory and inhibitory mechanisms. **Repositioning Maneuver Simulations** Visualize head movements and otoconial motion during commonly used BPPV repositioning maneuvers through dynamic 3D simulations, making the individual steps easier to understand. **Spatial Relationship Visualization** Explore the spatial relationships among the head, gravity, semicircular canal planes, and otoconial movement from different viewing angles. Suitable for education, independent learning, and professional discussions. **INTENDED USE** This application may be used for: - Education in vestibular medicine and otology - Audiology education and professional learning - Understanding BPPV positional testing and repositioning principles - Spatial anatomy education for medical students and related healthcare professionals - Interactive 3D demonstrations in clinical education and professional discussions **OFFLINE FUNCTIONALITY** The application's core educational content can be used offline without requiring account registration. The application does not require users to upload personal medical histories, examination results, or other personal health information. It does not provide automated diagnoses based on individual symptoms. **MEDICAL DISCLAIMER** This application is intended primarily for medical education, professional learning, and instructional demonstrations. It is not intended to replace medical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment by a physician or other qualified healthcare professional. It does not provide personalized medical advice or treatment recommendations based on individual symptoms. If you experience vertigo, dizziness, nystagmus, hearing changes, neurological symptoms, or other health concerns, please seek evaluation from a qualified healthcare professional.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: iCapNYS at none against BPPV Simulator's 1. BPPV Simulator's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
