Verdict
The clearest difference is ratings volume: MeChat at 98K against Flames Stories's 24. MeChat also leads on chart position (#185 vs unranked). Flames Stories's advantage is review sentiment (76% vs 58%). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. MeChat sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Flames Stories sells 15 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
MeChat holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MeChat has 98K ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of MeChat's written reviews are positive against 76% of Flames Stories's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
