About

FaveLock

FaveLock helps you stop reaching for the apps you can't put down — with a little help from someone you actually want to hear from. HOW IT WORKS Pick the app(s) you keep opening without thinking, and register a photo of your "fave" — anyone whose photo and words motivate you. From then on, whenever you try to open a blocked app, your fave's photo appears with a message instead. Choose Sweet mode for gentle encouragement, or Tough mode if you respond better to some tough love. FaveLock runs entirely on Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. It never sees which apps you actually chose to block — that information stays private to Apple's system, by design. FREE VS PREMIUM • Free: block 1 app of your choice, forever, at no cost. • Premium: block as many apps as you like, with no limit. Premium is a $1.99/month auto-renewing subscription with a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. PRIVACY Your fave's photo, your nickname, and your app selection are stored only on your device. FaveLock has no servers and no accounts — nothing about your usage is ever uploaded anywhere. Take back a few minutes at a time. Let your fave help. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is ads: FaveLock at none against Timers's shown. Timers's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
