Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Countdown at 5.0 against Memories's 3.0. Countdown also leads on review sentiment (92% vs 78%) and ratings volume (7 vs 1). Memories's advantage is price ($0.99 vs $4.99) and update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Memories costs $0.99 and Countdown $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
Countdown holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown has 7 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of Memories's written reviews are positive against 92% of Countdown's.
Memories ships an update every 6 days, Countdown fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
