Verdict
The clearest difference is ads: Star Guide at none against Hotel Mindset's shown. Star Guide also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (4.4K vs 1). Hotel Mindset's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Star Guide sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Hotel Mindset sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $19.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Hotel Mindset holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Star Guide has 4.4K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Star Guide ships an update every 2 weeks, Hotel Mindset every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
