Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Fruit Patch App at none against McClockface's 8. Fruit Patch App also leads on review sentiment (81% vs 63%). McClockface's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (316 vs 24). On price, update cadence, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. McClockface sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.00 per 7 days. Fruit Patch App asks for nothing beyond the download.
McClockface holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: McClockface has 316 ratings behind it against 24, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of McClockface's written reviews are positive against 81% of Fruit Patch App's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
McClockface ships an update every 3 weeks, Fruit Patch App fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
