Hitting Approach provides a simple way to track the pitch location, pitch type (fastball, curveball, changeup), and result for all of the at bats in a baseball or softball game. Stat reports and charts are then created using this data that will show the strengths and weaknesses of each player on your team as well as your opponents. A post game QPA (Quality Plate Appearance) report and a pitching post game report are automatically generated for each player following a game. It is the player's responsibility to provide feedback on their performance in order to allow coaches to coach the players' mental approach to the game.

Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: PitchComTracker at 5.0 against Hitting Approach's 4.5. Hitting Approach's advantage is ratings volume (13 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
PitchComTracker holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hitting Approach has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
