ReelCalm is a community based app designed to identify potentially harmful triggers in movies, so that those with past trauma or anxiety can watch in peace. One of our favourite things to do is cuddle up on the couch with a bag of popcorn and watch a movie. Movies are an incredible form of entertainment, but unfortunately there are a lot of movies that contain scenes some of us would rather see. Movies with scenes of sexual assault, natural disasters or overt racism can be incredibly damaging to thousands of people. With ReelCalm, you can help to warn people BEFORE they watch those movies, ensuring that everybody knows what to expect when they press PLAY.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

EPlay holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 10 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of ReelCalm's written reviews are positive against 33% of EPlay's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

ReelCalm ships an update every 5 days, EPlay monthly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
