DiveScan turns your paper dive log into a real, searchable logbook — no manual typing required. Snap a photo of a logged page and DiveScan reads it for you: dive number, date, site, buddy, depth, times, gas, and more, extracted automatically and ready to review. It works with PADI-style forms and most dive-shop and resort logbooks, even when a stamp overlaps the handwriting or the page is at an angle. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS DiveScan doesn't store your dives in the cloud. Everything lives on your device, and iCloud keeps it in sync — nothing else. No account is needed to use the app or log a dive by hand. SCAN WITH AI, LOG BY HAND — YOUR CHOICE Every diver gets free scans to try it out. After that, add more scan credits right in the app — or skip scanning and add dives by hand, which is always free. BUILT FOR DIVERS, NOT SPREADSHEETS Track dive type (wreck, night, drift, and more), marine life sightings, and conditions See your dive sites on a map and your progress on the stats tab Automatic gas consumption analysis (SAC/RMV), MOD, and EAD for every dive Import dives from your dive computer software via UDDF, with duplicates caught automatically Export your logbook to UDDF at any time — your data is never locked in Low-confidence scan fields are flagged for a quick double-check, not buried in the data Metric or imperial, your choice Whether you're digitizing years of paper logs or just want a faster way to log tomorrow's dive, DiveScan gets you back in the water sooner.

Verdict
The clearest difference is update cadence: DiveScan at daily against My wines cellar's fortnightly. My wines cellar's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
