Halal Core

App Store Description Halal Core — Halal Ingredient Scanner Halal Core helps you quickly assess food and product ingredients using barcode scanning and ingredient-label OCR. Scan a barcode when product data is available, or photograph the ingredient label directly when a barcode is missing, damaged, or not recognised. Halal Core provides clear results using three simple categories: - HALAL — no Halal concern detected in the available ingredient evidence - MASHBOOH — one or more ingredients require source verification - HARAM — a prohibited ingredient has been detected The app is designed for fast supermarket use, with concise explanations and supporting ingredient evidence. Key features include barcode lookup, ingredient-label scanning, OCR text extraction, E-number recognition, source-sensitive ingredient checks, protected-term detection, ingredient evidence review, scan history and favourites. Halal Core’s ingredient-assessment framework was developed with input and suggestions from Islamic scholars and Muftis, together with ingredient-source research and technical evidence. The app is intentionally conservative when an ingredient source cannot be verified. For example, source-dependent ingredients may be shown as Mashbooh until their origin can be established. No account is required to use the app. Halal Core provides informational ingredient guidance only. It is not a Halal certification authority and does not replace formal certification, scholarly advice, or a religious ruling.
