Bookeaters

Bookeaters is a reading journal and a book club in one. Keep track of what you read and share it with people who love books as much as you do. No ads. YOUR READING JOURNAL • Finished, current and paused books in one place — with ratings, reviews, genres and moods. • A bookmark for every book: pages read, or minutes for audiobooks. • A reading timer, and how long you have spent with each book. • A want-to-read list and a wishlist you can share with family by link. • Import your library from Goodreads, StoryGraph, Booxy or a PocketBook e-reader. YOUR BOOKSHELF • Books on a wooden shelf, spine out or cover out, audiobooks as retro CDs. • Shelves by year, favourites, genre or series — or hand-pick the books and slide them along the shelf with your finger. • Decorations for your shelf: a plant, a candle, a cat, a mushroom. Pick the ones you like. • Share a shelf as an image, to Instagram or to a group. READING WITH YOUR CLUB • Buddy reads with a discussion where a spoiler lock hides what you haven't read yet. • Votes on the next book, a club events calendar and shared goals. • Quotes from books — even snapped straight from the page. • Follow other readers and see how well your taste matches. STATS AND MOTIVATION • A yearly goal, charts by genre, rating and year, a reading timer and streaks. • Badges, levels and a yearly reading recap. WORKS WITHOUT A SIGNAL • On the underground you can still read your library, move your bookmark, save a quote and track your reading time. It all syncs once you are back online. A SAFE COMMUNITY • Community rules, in-app reporting of inappropriate content and blocking. • Reports are handled by club admins. The app is primarily in Czech, with an English version available. Book search and shop links are aimed at Czech readers. Links to buy books lead to Czech bookshops; we may earn a small commission on some purchases, which helps keep the app running. It doesn't change the price for you.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Bookeaters at none against Reading Diary's 1. Bookeaters also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 3 months). Reading Diary's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price and ads there is nothing between them.
