Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Tavern Rumble at 4.1 against Tacape's 3.6. Tavern Rumble also leads on ratings volume (102 vs 20). Tacape's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tavern Rumble sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Tacape sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Tavern Rumble holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tavern Rumble has 102 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Tavern Rumble's written reviews are positive against 63% of Tacape's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Tavern Rumble ships an update every 6 weeks, Tacape every 5 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
