Know the roads around your DMV office before your road test. RouteBuddy gives new drivers clear turn-by-turn voice directions on practice routes around their road test location. Routes are available for DMV road test locations in California and DPS road test locations in Texas, with more states being added. Built from driving instructor knowledge, learner feedback and AI route data, and kept up to date. KEY FEATURES - Voice GPS navigation with lane guidance and speed limits - Apple CarPlay support - Mock test mode - Record and save your own practice routes - Progress tracking for every route you drive GPS NAVIGATION DESIGNED FOR NEW DRIVERS Clear spoken directions take you through every turn, so you can keep your eyes on the road. Lane guidance shows you which lane to be in ahead of turns, intersections and freeway exits. The speed limit is shown on screen as you drive, and maps are updated monthly to reflect new road layouts. APPLE CARPLAY Connect to CarPlay and your directions appear on your car's display. No need to hold or look down at your phone. MOCK TEST MODE Drive a route the way you will on test day. Follow the directions, check your own mirrors and blind spots, and make your own decisions without coaching from the person in the passenger seat. GET USED TO FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS On the road test, the examiner tells you where to turn as you go. Practicing with spoken directions gets you used to hearing an instruction, planning ahead and acting on it in good time. FOCUS ON THE HARD PARTS Unprotected left turns, four-way stops, school zones and lane changes on busy multi-lane roads are where many new drivers lose confidence. Record the stretches you find hardest and practice them until they feel routine. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS See which routes you have completed and which still need work, so every practice drive has a clear plan. WHO ROUTEBUDDY IS FOR - Teens with a learner's permit getting ready for their road test - Adults taking a road test for their first US driver's license - Parents and guardians supervising practice drives - Driving school instructors looking for extra practice routes for their students RouteBuddy is designed to work alongside driver's ed and behind-the-wheel lessons, helping you get more out of practice time in between. Road test routes are generally not published, and examiners can vary them, so no app can tell you your exact route. RouteBuddy focuses on the roads around your road test location, so test day holds fewer surprises. Road test location addresses come from public state DMV and DPS office listings. Practice routes are not set, supplied or approved by any government agency. RouteBuddy is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the California DMV, the Texas DPS or any other government agency.
