Cards for memorizing words, phrases, rules... You can learn a large amount of new foreign words, prepare for the exams and much more. The application uses spaced repetitions (spaced repetitions). The clue point is that the information must be repeated at certain increasing intervals. Spaced repetition technique allows all knowledge to be stored in long-term memory, I mean, years from now, you’ll remember the information. At the same time spending less time on memorizing. You just need to create cards with words/phrases/sentences. The cards themselves will be shown with an increasing time interval according to the interval repetition algorithm. The app will let you know when the next study will start.

A handy flashcard builder for memorizing foreign words, terms and definitions: – Add images and text, customize font color and size – Create additional hint fields – Group cards into folders, move them between folders, and share sets with other users – Choose intervals between card repetitions – Change the total number of repetitions How it works: – Create flashcards with the words or terms you want to memorize and start practicing. – The practice algorithm exposes cards ranked by level of learning and date added. First you will be shown the new cards with a low learning level. – The app shows one side of a card (often the side that you remember the least) and asks you to recall the answer. Trying to recall an answer without hints is the most efficient and fastest way to commit the information to memory. – Next, the app reveals the full card and asks you if you managed to recall the correct answer. If you did, the card learning level increases; if not, it decreases.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Smart Repetition holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Repetition has 12 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 96% of Smart Repetition's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flashcard Crafter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Smart Repetition ships an update every 3 weeks, Flashcard Crafter every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
