Verdict
The clearest difference is review sentiment: OverThereApp at 100% against Livejoy's 43%. OverThereApp also leads on rating (5.0 vs 2.9) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Livejoy's advantage is ratings volume (63 vs 5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.
OverThereApp holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Livejoy has 63 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 43% of Livejoy's written reviews are positive against 100% of OverThereApp's.
Livejoy ships an update monthly, OverThereApp fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
