Western Stardust is a public augmented reality (AR) project created by Victoria Vesna in collaboration with the city of Santa Clarita which connects the community to its rich history and the cosmos. To use the app, enable your camera and point it at one of the western stars embedded in the pavement closely from above. An animated 3D rendering of the saddle will appear on your screen. Then you are encouraged to switch to selfie camera by entering the app again, capture yourself with hands open surrounded by star dust, and have the option to upload to a digital gallery.
