Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Da Capo at 5.0 against Visual Note's 4.2. Da Capo also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 73%). Visual Note's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.
Scored on Price · Rating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings · Update frequency · Ads · In-app purchases · Monetization · Best chart rank · Devices · Requires iOS
Both are free to download. Visual Note sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $12.90 per month and Da Capo sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Da Capo holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Visual Note has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of Visual Note's written reviews are positive against 100% of Da Capo's.
Visual Note ships an update every 10 days, Da Capo every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
