About

SharLoc

Features

SharLoc is a location-sharing app, not a location-tracking app. It was created to help groups of people—such as those hiking, enjoying leisure activities, visiting amusement parks, going on drives, traveling, or attending events— quickly and easily check where everyone is. ■ Only people in the room You create a “room” like a chat room, and only people invited via a code or QR code can join. Locations are shared only while you’re in the room together. Once you leave the room, that’s it. There’s no feature that lets you keep seeing someone’s location just because you added them to your contacts once. ■ You must share your location to see others’ This is SharLoc’s fundamental principle. It’s impossible to secretly track others. You can check the list of who’s currently in the room at any time. ■ Keep your home and workplace private If you designate a private location, your exact location won’t be shared while you’re in that area. It will still show that you’re online, but your exact location won’t be revealed. ■ No sign-up or personal information required We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, or social media accounts—nothing at all. The only data stored on our servers is the current location of active users, and even that is deleted after 12 hours. Movement history is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers. ■ Review Your Path We record your movements while you’re in a room so you can replay them on a map. You can also see the paths of the people who were with you. ■ No Ads, Pay Only for What You Use We don’t force you to watch ads, nor do we block features if you turn them off. Instead, we accept “tickets” to cover the server costs of real-time streaming. · 1 ticket = 1 person using the service for 1 hour · The room creator uses the service for free. Rooms used by a single person (for tracking movement) are also free. · When creating a room, the host can choose whether the host pays the entire amount upfront or if each participant pays individually. · Tickets are deducted in advance, and any unused portion is refunded when the room ends. ■ Even While Using Other Apps Location sharing continues even when you’re not looking at the map. While location is being used in the background, an indicator will always appear at the top of your iPhone screen. We never use your location without your knowledge. SharLoc isn’t interested in who you are, what number you have, or who you know. All we need is your location and the people you’ve chosen to share it with. ※ Only iPhone (15.6 and above) is supported. iPad is not available for use, and it will be supported in future.
