Find the bars with character. Dive Bar Finder helps you find dive, punk, goth, rock, metal and alternative bars nearby or in a city you're visiting. Look through venue photos, ratings and opening hours, then get directions with Apple Maps or Google Maps. Choose the kinds of places you like and adjust search strictness to narrow the results. Venue information comes from Google Places and community contributions, so check opening times and entry rules with the venue before setting out. Free access lets you search and browse a limited selection of results. Premium adds expanded results, favourites, filters, a synchronised collection and achievements. Sign in with Apple to back up your collection and contribute venue approvals or reports. Record a visit when you're at a venue. Check-ins use your current location to verify proximity. You don't need to buy or drink anything to record a visit. You can explore fictional examples in Settings under Preview a collection. Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or a one-off lifetime purchase. Prices and any eligible trial are shown before you confirm with Apple. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your Apple Account settings. Restore Purchases is available in the app's Settings. Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Dive Bar Finder at 5.0 against Bevvy's 4.3. Dive Bar Finder also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 74%) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). Bevvy's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (16 vs 1). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dive Bar Finder sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Bevvy asks for nothing beyond the download.
Dive Bar Finder holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bevvy has 16 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 74% of Bevvy's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dive Bar Finder's.
Bevvy ships an update fortnightly, Dive Bar Finder every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
