Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: Wikist at 5.0 against Story Wiki's 4.0. Wikist also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Story Wiki's advantage is update cadence (every 10 days vs every 11 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wikist sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Story Wiki sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
Wikist holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Story Wiki has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
Wikist ships an update every 11 months, Story Wiki every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
