Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Choicegenics at none against Flexspeak AAC's 3. Choicegenics also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Flexspeak AAC's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flexspeak AAC sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Choicegenics asks for nothing beyond the download.
Choicegenics holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Choicegenics's written reviews are positive against 100% of Flexspeak AAC's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
Choicegenics ships an update every 2 months, Flexspeak AAC weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
