If you own a Tesla and are looking for an app providing you… : - automatic recordings and archives of your long trips, giving you key statistics (autonomy, cost and more) specifically for such trips, quite different from those of your daily commute - recording of all your charges with the same key statistics for the global usage of your car, as well as visibility on the cost of your home charges (otherwise hidden in your global bill) - a fully private solution based on queries from your phone to your Tesla account, NOT relying on a permanent monitoring and recording of your car from a central internet server (which is like giving the key of your car, its location and allowing the recording of all your whereabouts…) … Pilot Log For Tesla is made for you. The app comes with a free trial with full access for 30 days, after which an in-app purchase for "lifetime unlock" is required. Trips: By default a trip log is automatic: you just have to push a button to start you trip and another one to archive it when it is completed. Stops and starts along your trip are automatically detected and recorded. At each start/stop the following data are automatically collected: time, address, mileage, battery %, external temperature, added kWh (as applicable). Using these data, trip statistics are computed, globally and for each trip segment, relating to autonomy, distance, battery usage or charge, duration, speed and outside temperature. Once the trip is archived, the « adjusted electricity cost » is computed using recharge costs and adjusted cost (+ or -) to take into account the difference of battery level at the beginning and end of the trip. Charges: Charges done during a trip logged with the app are automatically available in the charges history and for charges statistics. You can define up to 3 electricity contracts with the following data: address (via geo-localization), kWh price (peak and off-peak periods as applicable). You can easily record charges done at your contracts location once completed; just push a button; the applicable contract is detected via geo-localization and added kWh are automatically collected from the car. Charge cost is computed using your electricity contract peak and off-peak unit prices (as applicable). Any other type of charge is easily recorded in the same way. Added kWh come automatically from the car; you just have to enter yourself the charge cost (which could be 0 in case of a free charge). Charges data are used to produce the following statistics, for the current month and the preceding 3 months: - total charge cost - contract charges cost (for each contract) - cost of 100 miles (or km) - autonomy (distance for a full battery) Security, privacy, disclaimer: - during a trip, the GPS coordinates of your phone are recorded. This is mandatory for the automatic mode and for the display of your trip on the map. The activation of Location Services will be requested at the first use of the app. You can also activate it later in Settings/Privacy & Security/Location Services - email and password you use to connect to your Tesla account are not known by the app - the application only gets data from the car and does so only when you log a start/stop or record a charge. Car battery drain by « waking-up » the car is negligible - the only commands sent to the car are the following: wake-up and provide available data. No commands are sent for « physical » action (like open, close, …) - the app is not endorsed by Tesla Inc.

Step out. The trip is logged. Your Tesla already measures its odometer, location and charging. VoltLogger reads them through the official Tesla Fleet API and turns them into the mileage log your business records need, plus a home-charging cost record. Connect your Tesla account once and logging starts that minute. No dongle. No OBD box. No install. WHAT IT DOES - Every trip logged automatically: date, start and end odometer, both addresses. - Business or personal in one tap. Rules can do it for you (home to work = commute). - Home charging in kWh, costed at your actual price per kWh, not an average. - An odometer graph that climbs from reading to reading, reconciled across the year. - Business distance kept separate from commuting and personal, running totals as you go. - Export everything to CSV or PDF any time, and share the records with your accountant. HOW IT WORKS VoltLogger runs on the server, not on your phone. The app does not use your phone's location to track trips — trips come from your Tesla. Polling is sleep-aware: more often while you drive or charge, and it backs off when the car is parked, so your Tesla sleeps normally. If a poll is missed, no distance is lost — the odometer difference reconstructs the trip, so your totals always reconcile. FOR YOUR MILEAGE LOG VoltLogger keeps the records a mileage log needs: the date and distance of each journey, both addresses, and a business-or-personal purpose you set in one tap. In the US it records the four things the IRS wants per trip (date, miles, destination, purpose), written down as you drive rather than reconstructed at year-end. Home-charging cost is recorded in kWh so you know your real operating cost. VoltLogger is a record-keeping tool, not tax advice — confirm your position with your accountant. YOUR CAR, YOUR DATA VoltLogger asks for read-only access through the official Tesla API — vehicle status and location, which is all a log needs. It cannot drive, steer, open doors or change settings. We never store your Tesla password, and you can revoke access any time from your own Tesla account. Everything is encrypted on EU infrastructure. We sell no data, to anyone. TRY IT FREE See the whole app with sample data, without connecting a Tesla. Free for 7 days. SUBSCRIPTION VoltLogger Premium is a weekly or yearly auto-renewing subscription, with a 7-day free trial.
