MunchGuard turns mealtime videos into a calmer chew-to-watch routine. Parent-approved videos play while your child takes steady bites, then pause with a friendly Eating Buddy reminder when bites stop. A few steady bites and the show comes right back. No open browsing for kids. NEW: SCREEN FADE Screen Fade opens each meal with screen-free table time that grows step by step, until meals don't need a video at all. During table time your child sees their buddy, a question to talk about, and a countdown to the show. Free for every family. NEW: FOOD EXPLORER A sticker book for the foods your child tastes. After a meal they pick what they tried and how it went, and the sticker levels up with every taste. Every taste counts the same, loved or not yet. Six foods are free; Premium makes the book unlimited. Parents stay in control of everything children see. Add exact video links you trust, or connect a parent YouTube account and review the individual videos before importing them. Only approved videos can play during mealtime, with no channel catalog, autoplay rabbit holes, or recommendations from strangers. HOW IT WORKS - Share a video link straight from the YouTube app or Safari (Share → Add to MunchGuard), or paste an exact link you approve. - Premium families can connect their own YouTube account and choose individual videos from their playlists and liked videos. - Your child watches in MunchGuard's built-in, kid-safe player. - The front camera and microphone notice chewing on-device. Chewing means play. Stopping means a gentle pause, a keep-munching Eating Buddy, and an optional parent voice cue. - When they take a few bites, the video resumes automatically. CONNECT YOUR YOUTUBE ACCOUNT — PREMIUM Sign in with Google to review videos from your own YouTube playlists and liked videos, then import only the individual videos you approve into the selected child's library. Access is read-only: MunchGuard cannot post, edit, or delete anything, children never see account browsing, and your Google password never touches the app. WHY PARENTS LOVE IT - You approve every exact video, creating a closed, safe library. - Each child can have their own approved library, meal history, goals, and progress. - Fifteen animal Eating Buddies chew along and travel a trail as the meal goes on. Two are free. - Watch Time: a timed video session with no chewing needed, for after the meal. - Say "Start a meal in MunchGuard" to Siri, or add it to Shortcuts and the Action button. - Insights show streaks, weekly goals, screen-free minutes, and a printable report for caregivers (Premium). - Encouraging, never shaming: it is a game, not a punishment. PRIVACY FIRST BY DESIGN - Chewing detection runs on your device. Live camera, microphone, and motion signals are not uploaded or stored by MunchGuard. - If you record a parent voice reminder, that short reminder stays on the device. - Optional Sign in with Apple can back up your approved library, meal summaries, and sticker book to your private iCloud, so your family's setup can restore on your Apple devices. - Parents add exact video links they choose. MunchGuard does not host, download, cache, or redistribute video content. - No ads. No third-party tracking. No analytics SDKs. Chew-to-watch playback, Screen Fade, Watch Time, and your approved video library are available without Premium. MunchGuard Premium adds read-only YouTube imports, separate spaces for multiple children, more Eating Buddies, Insights with the weekly report, and an unlimited Food Explorer sticker book. Start with a 30-day free trial; MunchGuard Premium Monthly then renews monthly at the App Store price unless canceled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. A lifetime unlock is also available as a one-time purchase.
