Quick notes for everyday life. Clear records for work. Lognote automatically adds the date and time, so you can capture a thought, an update or a moment—and remember when it happened. Save a gift idea, keep meeting notes, document a project or write a few lines about your day. Each entry becomes part of a timeline you can return to later. OFFLINE FIRST. YOUR NOTES, YOUR CHOICE. Start writing without an account. Your notes are saved locally first, and core note-taking works offline. Cloud Sync is optional and available with Lognote Pro. CAPTURE NOW. ORGANIZE LATER. Write directly in a group or drop a thought into Inbox. Save links with optional previews, format your text and use reusable Quick Notes for things you record often. KEEP LIFE AND WORK IN ORDER. Create groups for projects, trips, routines and personal ideas. Put related groups into folders. Use hashtags to connect notes across topics. With Pro, separate work and personal life into Workspaces, each with its own groups and Inbox. KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. AND WHEN. Every note gets an automatic timestamp, down to the second. Keep a daily journal, meeting log, shift record or project history without typing the time yourself. Prefer a simpler notebook? You can hide timestamps, too. YOUR NOTES. YOUR FAVORITE VIEW. Choose how your notes appear on iPhone and iPad: • Bubble for quick thoughts and everyday notes • Journal for a clear daily timeline • Classic for compact, timestamp-first records Switch views without rewriting your notes. SAY IT. KEEP IT YOUR WAY. With Pro on supported iPhone and iPad devices, record a voice memo and choose what to keep: the text, the recording or both. Play it back with a waveform and keep spoken details alongside your written notes. KEEP THE WHOLE PICTURE. Add photos, videos and files with Pro. Keep a project photo beside an update, a document with your meeting notes or a voice memo with a travel memory. FIND THE DETAIL YOU NEED. Search your notes instead of scrolling through everything. Find words, exact phrases, file names and voice memo transcripts. Use tags to bring related notes together, and explore your writing activity with statistics. TURN NOTES INTO REPORTS. Export your notes as PDF, plain text, CSV, JSON, Markdown, Rich Text or HTML. Share a work log, save a project record or use your notes elsewhere. Create local backups and review saved changes in the Audit Log. Pro adds export date ranges and advanced audit tools. MADE FOR YOUR APPLE DEVICES. Capture on iPhone, spread out on iPad, work with multiple tabs and split views on Mac, and add quick text entries from Apple Watch. Optional Pro Cloud Sync keeps your notes available across your devices. START FREE. ADD MORE WITH PRO. Use core text notes, automatic timestamps, Inbox, search and note views for free. Lognote Pro adds Cloud Sync, Workspaces, additional folders, media attachments, voice features, Favorites, calendar and map views, group locking and more. Write it down. Keep the context. Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is rating: Lognote at 4.6 against Timestamp Marker's 4.0. Lognote also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (51 vs 1). Timestamp Marker's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3). On price, review sentiment, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lognote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Timestamp Marker asks for nothing beyond the download.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

Lognote holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lognote has 51 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Timestamp Marker's written reviews are positive against 94% of Lognote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

Timestamp Marker ships an update every 6 weeks, Lognote weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
