climbUnity vs IceClimb.org

Find climbers at your level in your area. Find other recreation buddies as well! Chat in app, or join an expedition! All your buddies at your fingertips- make those crag days more fun by getting the word out to your besties. climbUnity was born out of trying to find a better way to meet climbers and recreation buddies during a pandemic.  Usually it’s easy to walk into a climbing gym and make friends, but for many that option was not on the table.  climbUnity wants to help you to build a community by focusing on adventures and shared experiences in the great wide world of rock climbing, biking, and hiking.  Sometimes we just need a buddy!

The IceClimb.org app keeps you a step ahead by crowdsourcing fresh beta from other ice climbers out in the field. Track ever-changing conditions, go where the ice actually sticks, and climb smarter this season. Ice climbing routes are ephemeral, but your information doesn't have to be! - Check real-time ice crag statuses on an interactive map to see what’s “in” before you rack up. - Explore detailed condition reports with precipitation and weather history to plan your perfect send window. - Subscribe to favorite crags for instant push notifications when new reports drop. - Access approach maps and route intel shared by the community to streamline your day in the mountains. - Get to the trailhead faster by sending directions directly to your Maps app with one tap. - Use the companion Apple Watch app to view ice crag statuses and submit abbreviated reports right from the watch. Green Dot Crags are in, Red Dot Crags are out, and Grey Dot Crags are unknown. - Completely free. No subscriptions or in-app purchases. Smart climbers don’t guess — they use IceClimb.org for the latest beta.
