Dash IoT Dashboard is a professional IoT and IIoT monitoring and control platform for connecting, visualizing and managing connected equipment and devices โ from a single installation to distributed device fleets. Libraries are available for seamless integration into many IoT device technologies including Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone and other Linux devices. The drag and drop design environment allows you to create beautiful dashboards without the need to write code. With highly customizable controls (widgets) you can design your dashboard to have your own โlook and feelโ. With a Dash account and a subscription, you can access the Dash cloud IoT platform, which includes the Dash MQTT broker, to allow the Dash IoT Dashboard to monitor and control your devices from anywhere. The Dash cloud IoT platform also provides many benefits such as push notifications, IoT device data storage, automated device discovery, device sharing and backups. The Dash IoT app can be used without an account, but will only be able to connect to IoT devices through BLE and TCP connections. The dash protocol is open, providing transparency, continuous improvement, and so you can implement your device code any way and anywhere you wish. - Connect to electronic devices with one or more BLE, TCP and Dash MQTT connections - Dash manages seamless transition between the different connection types - Share devices with other users - Provision TCP or MQTT credentials through BLE or SoftAP and even re-provision through TCP or MQTT once they are connected - Device discovery using any connection type - Highly customizable controls (colors, style, icons etc.) - Configure the Dash IoT Dashboard layout from the connected devices - Free to use for up to five BLE and TCP connections without an account - Store device data on the Dash server - Manage groups of users within an organization
Sentio

Sentio turns the sensors already in your iPhone โ microphone, camera, torch, accelerometer โ into a set of measurement tools, and keeps every measurement on the device. WHAT IT DOES Sentio provides a growing registry of measurement tools. Each one uses the phone's sensors in a specific way: โข Spectrum โ record ambient sound and see its frequency content, peaks and decay โข Color and light โ measure colour and brightness with the camera's exposure locked โข Blinking โ detect and time periodic light sources โข Knock โ tap an object and capture how it rings and how quickly it damps โข Polarization โ measure how much light passes through at a quarter turn โข Composite tools that drive the torch or the haptic engine and measure the response Some tools use two phones together โ one emits, one measures โ over a direct Bluetooth link, with no account required. ORGANISE WHAT YOU MEASURE Measurements attach to a simple catalog: categories, objects, and the scenario you measured them for. You can also capture first and file it later. Any measurement can be given a ground-truth label after the fact, so a session of guesses becomes a record you can actually check yourself against. Guided activities chain several tools into one procedure when a single sensor is not enough. OFFLINE BY DEFAULT Everything runs on the device. There is no account, no upload step, and no network call needed to take or view a measurement โ the app is fully usable in Airplane Mode, and that is the normal way to use it. Signing in with Apple or Google is entirely optional and does one thing: sync your own catalog between your own devices. HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS NOT Sentio is an instrument, not an oracle. It reports what the sensors measured and how it derived the numbers. It does not claim laboratory accuracy, it is not a medical or diagnostic device, and it should not be used to make safety decisions. Phone sensors vary between models; the tools are built around relative and resonance-based features precisely because absolute levels are not comparable across devices. PERMISSIONS โข Microphone โ required by the audio tools, used only while a measurement is running โข Camera โ required by the optical tools โข Bluetooth โ only for the two-phone tools, to find the other handset No advertising, no analytics SDK, no third-party trackers.

Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Sentio at none against Dash IoT's 7. Sentio also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 months). Dash IoT's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price and ads there is nothing between them.
