Verdict
The clearest difference is in-app purchases: IKKiCON at none against AmiiBoss's 4. IKKiCON also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (11 vs 15.0). AmiiBoss's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (662 vs 14). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AmiiBoss sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. IKKiCON asks for nothing beyond the download.
IKKiCON holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AmiiBoss has 662 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of AmiiBoss's written reviews are positive against 67% of IKKiCON's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
AmiiBoss ships an update monthly, IKKiCON every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
