Verdict

The call

The clearest difference is review sentiment: 3D modeling at 68% against SpritePixels's 0%. 3D modeling also leads on price (Free vs $0.99) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 15 months). SpritePixels's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On ads, chart position and device support there is nothing between them.

ReceptionRating · Positive reviews · Number of ratings

SpritePixels holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 3D modeling has 14K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of 3D modeling's written reviews are positive against 0% of SpritePixels's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

UpkeepUpdate frequency

3D modeling ships an update every 2 months, SpritePixels every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on September 25, 2026 and August 23, 2026 respectively.
